Cooking Dash
Posted by Jianyang Tan on November 28th, 2008 in Reviews

Flo’s at it again. In this spin-off from the Dining Dash series, Flo’s cook, aptly named Cookie, has taken a vacation to participate in a broadcasted cooking competition show. This gives you another opportunity to play Flo as she gets busy around her diner. Cooking Dash contains as much goodness as you’d expect from the [...]

Anna’s Ice Cream
Posted by Luna Cruz on November 26th, 2008 in Reviews

We love ice cream. We’ve dreamt of a game where you can scoop and scoop and scoop ice cream, with a whole rainbow of flavors and toppings to choose from. And at first we were disappointed with Anna’s Ice Cream, when all you could do at the start was serve one flavor (vanilla) and one [...]

Mystery Cookbook
Posted by Marcus Albers on July 14th, 2008 in Reviews

If there was one thing that I learned from watching movies last year, it was that rodents are responsible for some of the finest cuisine in the world. The story of a rat who longs to be a great chef should be strangely familiar to those that have given Mystery Cookbook a try. Similarities between [...]

Hell’s Kitchen
Posted by Jianyang Tan on June 13th, 2008 in Reviews

Some of us are very critical of games coming from well-known films or television programs. Some things appear best through stylized camera angles and cinematic storylines, observed from a third-person’s view. However, plenty of this is lost in the crossover to interactive media, largely because being “interactive”, it requires you to participate actively in the [...]

Stand O’ Food
Posted by Nick Kojima on December 20th, 2007 in Reviews

Grits, coffee, cakes, flowers, and now hamburgers. The thrill of virtual depictions of mind-numbing service industry jobs continues. It’s good to see that when people get home from the tiring grind of their day jobs, they can strap on the apron and get to work doing the same thing virtually. Why, we will never know, [...]

Teddy Tavern
Posted by Brandon Scheuerman on December 19th, 2007 in Reviews

Many of us enjoy food, either simply eating it or for the more adventurous of us (and you know who you are) going so far as to prepare the food. The focus of this game is the latter, although it is entertaining for anyone to play. The premise of the game is simple enough; you [...]

Jane’s Hotel
Posted by Mayling Tan on October 10th, 2007 in Reviews

Not to be mistaken for other online hotel games like Habbo Hotel, Brain Hotel or even Pet Hotel, Jane’s Hotel holds its own rather well. Created by Russian developers Realore Studios, Jane’s Hotel will please many management/service game fans. It’s about time that games like this finally made the cross over into the hotel industry. [...]

Sheeplings
Posted by Mayling Tan on June 8th, 2007 in Reviews

With casual games, there’s really no telling what the developers will think of next. There are the normal themes developers will stick to such as the usual fairies, aquatic creatures, restaurants/diners, deep space and what-have-yous. Sheeplings decided to take the scenic route and put you in the shoes of a sheep dog instead.

The Apprentice - Los Angeles
Posted by Mayling Tan on May 16th, 2007 in Reviews

If you’re a great fan of ridiculously rich billionaires with equally atrocious toupees to match, surely you must know of the latest offspring from the reality TV series, The Apprentice. I’m personally not inclined to the series but I do stumble upon it channel surfing occasionally. I was really curious to see how this show [...]

Burger Island
Posted by Poh Tun Kai on May 15th, 2007 in Reviews

Burger Island is one of those games with an odd “push and pull” effect. Like the best arcade action games, it tests your reflexes as well as your memory in rapidly assembling increasingly complicated recipes. A really addictive game would usually have you glued to your screen, reluctant to pull yourself away. But Burger Island [...]
