Cooking Dash
Posted by Jianyang Tan on November 28th, 2008 in Reviews

Flo’s at it again. In this spin-off from the Dining Dash series, Flo’s cook, aptly named Cookie, has taken a vacation to participate in a broadcasted cooking competition show. This gives you another opportunity to play Flo as she gets busy around her diner. Cooking Dash contains as much goodness as you’d expect from the [...]

Fashion Dash
Posted by Luna Cruz on August 10th, 2008 in Reviews

Fashion Dash is a typical click-management game, similar to its Dash series sisters - Diner Dash, Dairy Dash, Wedding Dash, etc. In Fashion Dash, you play Coco, Flo’s friend (remember Flo?), who’s a costume designer for a dance show on TV. When the show gets cancelled, Coco finds herself out of a job - and [...]

Wedding Dash 2: Rings Around the World
Posted by Jianyang Tan on July 4th, 2008 in Reviews

Thematically, a wedding is an excellent choice for a management game. It’s an important occasion, requiring exceptional planning and smooth running to ensure its success. For everything to go well, you’ll have to get the right decorations, the right menu and the right seating arrangements. Everything has to go perfectly, because a wedding only happens [...]

Dairy Dash
Posted by Jianyang Tan on June 12th, 2008 in Reviews

Dairy Dash, as the name already suggests, is another spin-off of Diner Dash published by Playfirst. The story begins with the Smiths deciding to take up a relative’s old farm, and that’s where you come in. Your job is to click-manage their efforts to make the best they can out of it. Also, true to [...]

Mystery of Shark Island
Posted by Nick Kojima on December 30th, 2007 in Reviews

Playfirst would like you to believe that their new game, Mystery of Shark Island “tempts everyone’s inner beachcomber.” To be honest, I’m not sure I have an inner beachcomber – I have more of an “inner guy who pounds fruity drinks, gets sunburns in uncomfortable places and ogles the co-eds down at Cabo on spring [...]

Stand O’ Food
Posted by Nick Kojima on December 20th, 2007 in Reviews

Grits, coffee, cakes, flowers, and now hamburgers. The thrill of virtual depictions of mind-numbing service industry jobs continues. It’s good to see that when people get home from the tiring grind of their day jobs, they can strap on the apron and get to work doing the same thing virtually. Why, we will never know, [...]

Oasis
Posted by Nick Kojima on November 16th, 2007 in Reviews

It’s a strategy game you can play in 10 minutes, which is exactly what the world needed. Oasis is to the big strategy games like Civilization what Disneyland is to Europe. All the most important parts are there, but they have been shrunk down to something that even a child can understand.

Sweetopia

The common wisdom on casual games is that they should be easy, slow, and somewhat… sedate. Someone forgot to give Pi Eye Games the memo. Another entry in the “ball shooter” genre, this one takes a strong twist for the more frantic and visually stimulating. It is to Zuma what “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” [...]

Pirate Poppers
Posted by Cameron Sorden on October 21st, 2007 in Reviews

Sparkling diamonds, mystical Aztec relics, fine ivory carvings, and piles and piles of beautiful, glittering gold as far as the eye can see. In short, treasure! And it can all be yours, if you’re hungry for adventure. Just don’t expect to be fighting swordfights, gunning down naval ships, or drinking rum in this bold little [...]
