Magic Match: The Genie’s Journey
Posted by Nick Kojima on December 29th, 2007 in Reviews

The simple law of averages says that if you are an avid Casual Gamer (and if not, what are you doing on this site?) you probably played Magic Match. In fact, odds are you played it and liked it. So many people played it and liked it that it became a surprise hit and even [...]

WW2 Pacific Heroes
Posted by Brandon Scheuerman on December 23rd, 2007 in Reviews

Nearly every boy that I have ever known has at one time or another wanted to be a fighter pilot. Whether it’s in the first history class that they learn of the Red Baron or when they see the combat footage from WWII fighters, eventually, they all want to be in that fighter plane, feeling [...]

Four Houses
Posted by Nick Kojima on November 15th, 2007 in Reviews

Beep Industries has put out another truly original and beautiful little game. We don’t know what they are doing in that company to remain so innovative, but we wish they’d do a lot more of it, because they’re making some really great little games.

Elemental
Posted by Nick Kojima on November 4th, 2007 in Reviews

What I love about casual games is their ability to be beautiful and elegantly relaxing. Elemental is just such a game in many respects. The setting is a beautiful Celtic inspired world of natural elements, and the mood is serene. Bringing to mind a quiet waterfall or a secluded glen, the game conveys beauty of [...]

Dream Vacation Solitaire
Posted by Nick Kojima on October 31st, 2007 in Reviews

Well, yes, it’s solitaire. No real surprises there. And yes, you’re on a vacation, and if you always wanted to cruise the world on a luxury yacht, I guess that’s kinda dreamy. And though Dream Vacation Solitaire tries like many solitaire games to spice it up through the liberal application of game variants like yin-yang, [...]

Dynasty
Posted by Guest Writer on October 15th, 2007 in Reviews

When I first played Dynasty, I expected it to be just another ball-shooting puzzle game. However, once I got into it, it was clear that the developers had put an interesting spin on the genre. Instead of shooting palls at the advancing line, you control a massive celestial dragon that can be moved around the [...]

Agatha Christie: Death On The Nile
Posted by Poh Tun Kai on September 29th, 2007 in Reviews

Not every casual game needs to have a great storyline backing it up, but this one is all the better for it. This game is an adaptation of Agatha Christie’s longest novel, Death On The Nile, and its plot is revealed in a series of still cut-scenes depicting the characters as unmoving “talking heads” while [...]

Hidden Object Extravaganza Pt 2
Posted by Mayling Tan on July 10th, 2007 in Features

If you enjoyed our previous feature on hidden object games, don’t hold your breath because we’ve got more coming your way! Last week’s list comprised mostly of forerunners in the hidden object game genre; which was more like a prep course. This week, we’ve managed to get our hands on newer games; such as the [...]

Inca Ball
Posted by Poh Tun Kai on May 20th, 2007 in Reviews

Inca Ball follows in the footsteps of the ball-shooter genre pioneered by Luxor, with trains of colored spheres rushing down twisty tracks while you try to shoot the right colors to create matched sets of 3 or more balls. It’s a tried and true formula that Sahmon Games doesn’t deviate far from. What sets this [...]
