Wild West Quest
Posted by Luna Cruz on September 3rd, 2008 in Reviews

This casual game proves that all you need to set yourself apart from other games is a good story. Wild West Quest appears to be the usual hidden object game - random objects are strewn across a scene with no rhyme or reason, and you have to find them all before the time runs out. [...]

Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes
Posted by Marcus Albers on July 10th, 2008 in Reviews

I’ve played quite a few hidden object, or seek-and-find, games in my time. They have ranged from the so-so, such as The History Channel Lost Worlds, to the excellent, like the Mystery Case Files series. There are certain things that I look for when evaluating these games, such as the quality of the graphics, the [...]

Build in Time
Posted by Xuanming Zhou on June 18th, 2008 in Reviews

Let’s face it, I’m a big fan of the Build-a-lot series – two award winning casual games that allowed the player to construct an entire neighborhood, earn lots of cash from selling real estate, and admire his or her own handiwork from a birds’ eye view at the end of it all. The feeling of [...]

Dairy Dash
Posted by Jianyang Tan on June 12th, 2008 in Reviews

Dairy Dash, as the name already suggests, is another spin-off of Diner Dash published by Playfirst. The story begins with the Smiths deciding to take up a relative’s old farm, and that’s where you come in. Your job is to click-manage their efforts to make the best they can out of it. Also, true to [...]

Tradewinds Caravans
Posted by Nick Kojima on June 2nd, 2008 in Reviews

Let’s get this out of the way right at the top of this review: Go download and play this game. It’s a solid game, and 10x more fun than 90% of what we have reviewed over the last year. To be really honest, I was supposed to write this review about 24 hours ago, but [...]

Hidden Mysteries: Civil War
Posted by Nick Kojima on April 21st, 2008 in Reviews

I really wanted to like this game. Since the explosion of the casual game genre in 2005, there has been a sort of deeply held belief that the only people playing casual games are soccer moms and grandmothers. But statistics show quite clearly that a good solid third to half of the casual game audience [...]

WW2 Pacific Heroes
Posted by Brandon Scheuerman on December 23rd, 2007 in Reviews

Nearly every boy that I have ever known has at one time or another wanted to be a fighter pilot. Whether it’s in the first history class that they learn of the Red Baron or when they see the combat footage from WWII fighters, eventually, they all want to be in that fighter plane, feeling [...]

Minuet Mixer
Posted by Nick Kojima on November 7th, 2007 in Reviews

Ok – this one completely took us by surprise. A hard-to-find little game that we found lurking in the bargain basement of Large Animal’s website, this is one of those games that makes you sit up and say “Hey, that’s new!” – and we just can’t ever get enough of that.

Mahjong Escape Ancient China
Posted by Nick Kojima on October 22nd, 2007 in Reviews

Look - another Mahjong game set in China! Who could have seen that coming? Apparently the demand for these things is bottomless. That being said, Mahjong Escape Ancient China is more tastefully implemented than most with sharp graphics, beautiful backgrounds, and traditional music that fails to irritate.
