Our modern world is constantly driven by innovation and invention, and it’s exciting to see that such a practice isn’t just restricted to industry research. Money Tree
Posted by Xuanming Zhou on September 13th, 2008 in Reviews

The game’s title, Money Tree, is quite literal.  I remember game shows I watched as a kid where contestants would have money raining over them, and they were promised whatever amount they could grab before the notes hit the floor. I would mock their silly money-grabbing antics openly in front of the TV set, but secretly, [...]

Indie Monday: Interview with Steve Verreault from Twilight Games
Posted by Nick Kojima on September 8th, 2008 in Features

We know Twilight Games for their lovely titles like Aargon Deluxe, Space Taxi 2 and Jump Jump Jelly Reactor. The studio began in Montreal, Canada back in 1999. Today, the comapany is truly international, with its members working and collaborating from different countries through the Internet. Yet, despite all those developments, it still retains its [...]

Posted by Poh Tun Kai on August 14th, 2008 in Reviews

Some casual games really reward a full play-through, and Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, really has a lot to offer. Gripping story? Check. Addictive gameplay? Yup. Deep RPG (role-playing game) elements? Lots of them! Quality sound and graphics? That too.

Obulis
Posted by Poh Tun Kai on July 9th, 2008 in Reviews

Sometimes it takes an original game concept to put the bounce back into our step. In the case of Obulis, it’s simply the idea of cutting a few ropes and watching colored balls fall, bounce and roll through increasingly complicated levels. IonFX has had plenty of experience in making these cunning physics-based puzzles, since there [...]

Build in Time
Posted by Xuanming Zhou on June 18th, 2008 in Reviews

Let’s face it, I’m a big fan of the Build-a-lot series – two award winning casual games that allowed the player to construct an entire neighborhood, earn lots of cash from selling real estate, and admire his or her own handiwork from a birds’ eye view at the end of it all. The feeling of [...]

Farm Frenzy
Posted by Jianyang Tan on June 11th, 2008 in Reviews

Farming Frenzy is a real piece of work with plenty of real solid click-management and arcade elements. It’s the sort of game that makes you rethink a genre believed to have no more new room for re-creation.
