Even psychics have to rely on natural human means to find missing items sometimes. You play the role of Cassandra, a young medium who has taken after her grandmother in the practice. Cassandra has often relied on her magic ring to help her solve various cases, and unfortunately it has somehow gone missing. Together with the spirit of Nostradamus, in the vein of all seek-and-find games, you’ll be getting to the bottom of the matter by solving puzzles and finding hidden objects.

In Cassandra’s Journey - The Legacy of Nostradamus your search list begins and stays with just six items. Only after finding one of them will the name of the next be made available to you. In a way, that helps you focus your attention on the goals better, while still retaining the quantity in the challenge. The lists do exhibit a great degree of variety across the various levels — sometimes you’ll encounter short word puzzles, and sometimes you’ll have to solve riddles. For the levels, apart from the interesting compositions and clarity in the layouts, you’ll be treated to a good number of different minigames as well: spot-the-difference, solitaire and bejewelled playalike are among some of them.

In particular, the hint system is something noteworthy. There are three types of hints that you can purchase with gems you find, each of which help you in different ways. The more “vague” the hint, the less it’ll cost, and the more “accurate” it is, the more expensive it’ll be. That’s excellent as it caters to players of different skill levels.

Top it all off, Cassandra’s Journey also comes with some interesting features incredibly pertinent to its theme. You’ll actually have to play for quite a while before you can unlock them, but once you do, you’ll find some fancy fortune-telling activities to try.

Despite the mystery, magic and unexplainable presence of Nostradamus, realizing the game’s quality of fun is still as empirical as can be. It’s a matter largely dependent on two simple factors: firstly, the theme and narrative content, and secondly, the style and polish in the design. In both respects, Cassandra’s Journey - The Legacy of Nostradamus has never been disappointing.
