How much does Carrie the Caregiver like working with kids? So much, in fact, that she’s back in another sequel, set in summer camp. Once again you’ll help her manage a veritable horde of precocious children who need to be guided through all sorts of fun activities.

Like the previous games in the series, Camp Funshine is essentially a service game that makes you jump through the usual hoops to take care of your little charges in five different activities: making tie-dye T-shirts, putting together friendship bracelets, growing flowers, building birdhouses and baking tasty s’mores. Take too long to help a kid through the activities, and he or she will get upset and leave. One difference from previous games comes from the fact that some tables have spots for two, and the children will express a preference in whom they want to be partnered with. If you can’t find an available kid, one of Carrie’s own two teenage children, who are here as trainee counselors, can help out.

As usual, you’ll want to find the fastest and most efficient way to click Carrie through all these activities while keep the kids happy. To do this, Carrie can use cute animals, a guitar and hearts collected from bugs that fly across the screen. Now, some children will get confused, fall asleep or even start flirting with the opposite sex, so it’s Carrie’s job to keep them focused on the task.

If you have played any of the previous games, or if you’re familiar with service games, it’s not hard to predict what you’ll find at Camp Funshine. And while the theme of taking care of children was still fresh in the second game, here it starts to feel like more of the same. It doesn’t help that some of the sound effects are repeated right out of the previous game, even though those sounds were for preschoolers and the kids in this camp are grade schoolers. The graphics are still bright and colorful, just like before, and the cartoon style fits the mood of the game quite nicely. Also, the fact that Camp Funshine is set in the wild outdoors really does perk things up, visually speaking. If more adventures with Carrie is what you’re looking for, Camp Funshine delivers that - no more, and no less.
