Playrix Entertainment gave us a sneak peek of their upcoming game, Call of Atlantis. Third in a successful series (preceded by Atlantis Quest and Rise of Atlantis), Call of Atlantis takes you on a new adventure across 7 ancient lands. We got to play the beta version (way ahead of the release date, so the instructions are still in Russian!), but already we were able to see the game’s potential.
The core gameplay is Match-3, where you slide icons into groups of three or more; to win, you use power-ups to make particular objects (such as shards of a magical hammer) fall to the bottom of the screen. There are also hidden object levels similar to what they had in 4 Elements, but with more variety. You can search for pieces of items in order to form a complete object; or you place these completed objects, jigsaw-style, back into the scene.
There are 66 levels of fun with unlimited play. Couple those with the highly-detailed artwork and animation that Playrix is known for, plus a screensaver of your favorite scenes, and it looks like Call of Atlantis is going to be another hit. It comes out on November 26, 2008 - and Casual Review will be ready with a full review for you by then. So check back soon!
