Flash Friday: Large Animal on Facebook

Full Article

Luna Cruz

Okay, we admit it - we use Facebook on the job. With the variety of Flash games available on Facebook, there’s really no excuse for having nothing to play on your 10-minute coffee breaks. This Flash Friday, we feature the Facebook games made by Large Animal Games (who made more time-wasters in the form of their Playwidgets). Just like other games on Facebook, you can play alone or challenge your friends to beat your score. And we’ve got good news for you iPhone users - they are working on iPhone versions of all these games, and they’ll be Facebook-connected. You heard it here first!

Note: You must be a registered Facebook user to play these games!

Bumper Stars

A mix of pinball and marbles, this Facebook game lets you shoot a Bumper Star (a bouncy beaver) around a level. Your goal is to hit all the fruits in the level within a limited number of allowed “shots”. The gameplay is easy, simple, and fun. Plus, Bumper Stars lets you customize your game by buying new, terribly cute bumpers from a store. Our favorites? The Obama and McCain bumpers. (If you feel like bouncing a presidential candidate around, this is the game for you.)

Lucky Strike Lanes

This is one of the more serious-looking bowling games we’ve ever seen. Use the mouse to aim, power up, and spin the bowling ball into the lane. It sounds basic, but timing your mouse clicks just right to get the perfect spin can be a killer. And with instant replays, detailed graphics, achievements, and customizable bowling balls, this is definitely a game for the serious bowler. (Or those who just suck in real life, and want to get a better score virtually.)

Bananagrams (Beta)

Think of this word game as Scrabble for one - you have a random bunch of letter tiles and need to form them into interlocking words. Here’s the catch: you need to use ALL of your tiles, otherwise you can’t finish the game. It has two game modes and customizable tiles and tabletops. While the game still has some kinks (some words aren’t recognized yet, and the 72-tile Solitaire mode is just tedious), this game is worth early adopting - so you can rack up points before your friends do!
