Granny is at it again in Sandlot’s latest game, Super Granny 3. We know. You have questions, like “What is Granny doing this time?”,”She hasn’t keeled over yet?”, and “I’m hungry. Is there any food in the fridge?” Read on to find out the answers to all of these questions (sorry, we ate your food).

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Super Granny series, playing the game is simple. You cannot jump, but you can dig holes in some of the ground, and you can go up ladders. Throughout the levels you’ll be given different items or other helpers to reach different areas on the map. Your primary goal is to rescue all of the cats on that level. You do this by simply walking over to them and then walking to the meow exit. Seems simple enough, and on the first couple of levels it is that simple. Then you start getting into the puzzle portions of the game where you need to use items on the map to reach some of the cats, and things get really interesting.

Granny also likes to garden, so you can play the gardening side game while you are rescuing the cats. Fixing up all of the flowers on a level will unlock the super flower, and getting that will give you more coins. You then use these coins in the shop that you eventually find. There are numerous levels to play, and the seemingly simple gameplay will keep you playing far longer then you expect.

The visuals are nice but simple. They present the game in a pleasing manner and support the light hearted nature of the game overall. The sound effects are simple and effective. The main point on the sound that really stuck out to me was the witty and funny comments that Granny makes while you play the game. There seem to be enough of the comments that they don’t replay an excessive amount, and they are really quite funny. There is no real story to the game as you would expect from this genre. You are presented with the basic trappings of why this Granny happens to be saving cats around the world, but that is all.

The game is very fun, overall. My whole family loves playing it, in fact. The key thing that will get you hooked is the simple, but addictive gameplay that just keeps going and going. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fun way to kill some time.
